Man stabs, hurts ex-lover

A 24-YEAR-OLD woman was stabbed and wounded by her former live-in partner in barangay Sto. Rosario, Bogo City, northern Cebu.

Jonalyn Asis, a native of Bicol province, was wounded in the abdomen.

Responding members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team arrested the suspect identified as Clerk Anthony Alpanta, 25.

Police said Asis and Alpanta broke up three months ago after the woman complained that she was mauled by the man.

They have one child.

The two were previously brought to the barangay hall to settle their differences but the woman refused to live with the man again.

This made the man upset, said police.

On Thursday afternoon, Asis was washing clothes when Alpanta arrived and attacked the woman with a knife, said police.

Charges are being readied against the suspect, said SPO2 Rogel Layson of the Bogo City police.  CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
