ILOILO CITY, Philippines — The most important survey remains to be the election day itself, the camp of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said Monday.
Atty. Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, made the remark after the release of the results of the latest Pulse Asia presidential survey held from April 16 to 21, which showed Marcos having a 33 percent lead against his closest opponent Vice President Leni Robredo.
According to Rodriguez, the message and call for unity of Marcos and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, “have reverberated all over the land among a great majority of Filipinos who responded by continuously embracing the tandem.”
“Seven days to go before election day, the trajectory and the numbers of presidential frontrunner Bongbong Marcos and vice-presidential leader Sara Duterte are showing no signs of slowing down,” Rodriguez said in a statement.
“For all of us in the UniTeam, the most important survey is the election day itself, thus, we call upon our countrymen to be vigilant and let us make sure that the true and genuine will of the people shall be heard, be counted and prevail,” he added.
Rodriguez urged Filipinos to vote, saying this election “is all about our future, as Filipinos of one race and as one nation.”
Based on the latest Pulse Asia survey, Marcos still leads with 56 percent of the respondents choosing him. He is followed by Robredo who garnered 23 percent, Senator Manny Pacquiao (7 percent), Manila City mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (4 percent), and Senator Panfilo Lacson (2 percent).

Marcos’ running mate, Duterte-Carpio, also leads the vice presidential survey with 55 percent, followed by Senate President Vicente Sotto III at 18 percent and Senator Francis Pangilinan who garnered 16 percent.
