MANILA, Philippines — The 8,241 new lawyers who passed the first online, decentralized bar exams will be inducted into the legal profession on May 2 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Supreme Court’s Office of the Bar Confidant said health protocols would be strictly observed during the oathtaking ceremony, which will be limited to the new lawyers, Supreme Court justices, bar examiners, law school deans, and organizers.

Only one guest is allowed per new lawyer.

“The guests of the inductees may join the ceremony at the SMX Convention Center in Manila where a live feed will be shown,” the Supreme Court said.

The oath-taking ceremony will also be broadcast live on YouTube using the official account of the Supreme Court’s Public Information Office, it added.

Fully vaccinated attendees have to present the original or digital copy of their vaccination card or vaccination certificate upon entry to the venue.

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated attendees must present their negative PCR test result for COVID-19 taken in a Department of Health-accredited facility within 48 hours prior to the oath-taking ceremony.
