Election materials arrive in Lanao del Norte
LINAMON, Lanao del Norte — Election materials to be used in the May 9 polls in Lanao del Norte province and Iligan City arrived on Friday.
According to lawyer Melber Alinas, provincial election supervisor in Lanao del Norte, said the materials are now stored at the Provincial Government Center in the capital town of Tubod and are being segregated per municipality.
The election materials are under the custody of the Provincial Treasurer’s Office.
Alinas said a total of 986 vote counting machines (VCMs) with batteries are already at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) hub in Iligan City. Of these, 263 are for Iligan City.
The VCMs, official ballots, and other election paraphernalia will be deployed on May 4 to the various towns of the province, under tight security provided by police and military personnel. The deployment of election materials for Iligan City will be on May 5.

Alinas said 481 trained technicians are on standby to assist in case of technical trouble.
