BACOLOD CITY — Despite his poor standing in preelection surveys, Manila mayor and presidential candidate Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso believes he still has a fighting chance with the help of what he called the “silent majority.”

In a campaign sortie in Bacolod City on April 28, Moreno said when he ran for Manila mayor in 2019, a survey showed he was in third place one week before the elections.

He, however, still managed to pull off an upset and won by 51 percent.

Moreno held rallies in Binalbagan town and Bacolod City in Negros Occidental.

He met with Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and supporters of Grupo Progreso at the Bacolod City Government Center on Thursday.

“The people are tired of the infighting of the red and yellow,” Moreno told the crowd at the government center. “We don’t deserve infighting of warring political colors.”

“I am encouraging you, come with me, join me, we’ll move on. We will not forget what happened in the past so we will remember what not to do and what to copy,” he added.

Moreno promised to provide Filipinos with their minimum basic needs and “peace of mind” amid the numerous problems they were facing.
