LUCENA CITY––Authorities arrested Wednesday a big-time female drug trafficker in Tayabas City in Quezon province and yielded half a kilo of shabu (crystal meth).
Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, said in a spot report issued Wednesday afternoon, that a joint operation by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents and police anti-illegal drugs operatives nabbed at past midnight Anna Marie Laurel, 45, of Tagkawayan town, also in Quezon, after selling P1,000 worth of meth to a poseur buyer in Barangay Mayuwi.
Authorities reportedly found in Laurel’s possession five knot-tied plastic containing 500 grams of shabu with a street value of P3,400,000.
The police also seized the mobile phone of the suspect.
The police are conducting further investigation to determine the suspect’s source of the illegal drugs.
The suspect, now detained at the local police jail, faced charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
