Free pap smear
With the growing number of women suffering from cervical cancer, Navotas City has taken the initiative to protect their women residents from the fatal but curable disease.
Free cervical screening in the form of pap smear and acetic acid wash tests are being offered to female constituents as part of the city’s observance of International Women’s Month.
The project is a brainchild of Mayor John Rey Tiangco, chairman of the city’s Gender and Development Council. The tests are conducted every Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at the city’s lying in clinic in Barangay (village) San Jose throughout the year.
