There is something wrong with you when even your relatives, who are supposed to give you comfort in times of trouble, are against you.
There is something wrong with Chief Justice Renato Corona and his wife, Cristina, because Cristina’s relatives are even saying the couple cannot be trusted.
If those close to you say you cannot be trusted, how can you expect others, the public especially, to trust you?
Corona should resign, even if he is found not guilty by the Senate impeachment court, because he no longer has the people’s trust.

Whatever CJ Corona says about President Noy’s motive for wanting him out of the high court no longer matters.
If Corona can’t be trusted in his dealings with his wife’s relatives, how can the people trust him as their Chief Justice?
Corona should be above suspicion, like Caesar’s wife.

First there was Ana Basa, Cristina’s niece, telling the Inquirer that the Coronas wrested control of the family’s Basa-Guidote Enterprises Inc. (BGEI) from them, using Renato’s power.
At the time of BGEI’s alleged takeover by the Coronas, Renato was a Malacañang official.
Basa’s allegations were confirmed by Sister Flory Basa, a Catholic nun who’s 90 years old.
There’s no reason to doubt Sister Flory’s statements about the Coronas. Why would a woman of the cloth, who’s in the “pre-departure area” of her life, lie?

I supported Corona in his fight with President Noy until I read Ana Basa’s interview with Inquirer reporter Cynthia Balana.
Let me repeat myself: I always root for the underdog and the oppressed.
But I’m withdrawing my support for the Chief Justice since he deserves what he’s getting now.
The tables have turned; the erstwhile bully is now being bullied.
