Easterlies to bring rain in parts of Luzon, Eastern Visayas; ITCZ in Mindanao, Palawan

MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies will bring overcast skies and rain in parts of Luzon on Wednesday, as well as the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) in Palawan, Mindanao and Eastern Visayas, said the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa).

According to Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina, cloudy skies and rain will prevail over the Bicol Region, Quezon province and Aurora due to the easterlies, while the same weather conditions will likewise be felt in Palawan due to the ITCZ.

“Kaya magiging maulap pa rin ang mga kalangitan bukas sa mga lugar na ito. Sa ibang bahagi ng Luzon ay asahan ang mas maaliwalas na panahon maliban na lang sa isolated thunderstorms sa hapon hanggang sa gabi,” said Badrina in a weather report on Tuesday afternoon.

(Skies will still be cloudy tomorrow in these places. In other parts of Luzon, expect clearer weather except for isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon to evening.)

Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas will also experience the rain brought by the easterlies. The rest of Visayas will experience clearer skies with chances of thunderstorms and rain.

The entire Mindanao, on the other hand, will also be affected by the ITCZ, expecting cloudy skies and rain showers.
