MANILA, Philippines — The Land Bank of the Philippines has streamlined procedures while expanding its services for World War II veterans and their dependent-pensioners.
In a statement on Sunday, the state-run LandBank said it signed on April 18 an amended agreement with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) for the direct remittance pension servicing system.
Under their enhanced agreement, Landbank and PVAO “streamlined procedures for pension account opening and formalized crediting of other PVAO benefits, such as medical and burial assistance, to the Landbank ATM accounts of pensioners.”
Their updated agreement also mandated establishing dedicated areas where veteran-related activities will be promoted in all Landbank branches serving PVAO pension accounts.
Landbank said these enhancements were made amid the “new normal” wrought by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
