DAGUPAN CITY––The heat index registered at 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, has reached 50 degrees Celsius, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
While lower than the 54.39 °C recorded on April 20, Monday afternoon’s heat index, or the temperature as felt by the human body, was still within the “danger category,” the state weather bureau said.
The maximum temperature Monday was registered at 35.2°C, while the humidity was 68 percent, Pagasa said.
The Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council cautioned the public against experiencing heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke linked to strenuous physical activities during the dry season.
“Make it a habit to drink water to prevent dehydration and other illnesses,” it said.
