MULTI-SECTORAL partylist Angat Pinoy continued to gain supporters nationwide after entering the recent Social Weather Survey’s (SWS) top 40 groups preferred by voters in the May 2022 elections.
Angat Pinoy focuses on six sectors, namely: micro-small-to-medium enterprises (MSMEs), women groups, senior citizens, PWDs, youth, and OFWs.
Recently, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora met with Angat Pinoy Partylist San Juan City Chapter president Richie Peralta and Director Kristopher Peralta to extend assistance to members of the City’s Tricycle Operators’ and Drivers’ Association (TODA).
Angat Pinoy has also been touring different parts of the country to present its political agenda in partnership with different local government units and organizations.
In Davao Del Norte, Angat Pinoy recently organized a caravan to reach out with women groups and senior citizens, where the partylist’s first nominee Karina Anna ‘Aina’ Chiu-Del Rosario briefly presented Angat Pinoy’s programs and political platforms.
These programs are aimed at helping women, especially single parents, protect their rights and welfare, and ensure elderly population receive the right benefits and care.
“There is a need to empower women in today’s society, particularly helping alleviate the welfare of single parents, working mothers, and other women who play crucial part in the Fiilipino households and the society,” Del Rosario, a registered nurse and former president of Davao Del Norte Council of Women, said.
Angat Pinoy vowed to help alleviate the lives of Filipinos under the new normal and work closely with the new administration that will be elected in the upcoming national elections in May.
Chairman emeritus of Angat Pinoy Anthony del Rosario said the partylist hopes to work with presidential candidate former senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, both frontrunners in various surveys, in case both wins.
“We hope to work with them para umangat talaga ang mga buhay ng mga Pinoy sa susunod na administrasyon,” Del Rosario, the former Davao del Norte governor and spokesman of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), added.
Vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte recently endorsed Angat Pinoy as she believed that the partylist espouses the same goals as UniTeam’s to enhance the welfare of Filipinos.
Del Rosario said Angat Pinoy appreciated Mayor Sara Duterte’s endorsement and pledged to support the BBM-Sarah UniTeam and its political platform in unifying the country.
Besides promoting women welfare, Angat Pinoy aims to provide support for OFWs’ concerns while they work abroad and when they return home; helping senior citizens in ensuring healthy lifestyle as they enjoy their retirement; assisting MSMEs, particularly those whose operations had been severely affected by the pandemic; and assisting the nation’s youth groups tread their career paths.
