Sister Flory Basa: I have forgiven the Coronas

MANILA, Philippines—Sister Flory Basa, aunt of the wife of Chief Justice Renato Corona said she has long forgiven her niece and her husband for withdrawing the P32.6 million fund of their family-owned company Basa-Guidote Enterprise Inc. (BGEI).

Corona, who is currently subject of an impeachment trial, in one of his interviews said that the P32.6 million which was taken out from three peso time deposit on Dec. 12, 2011 on the day he was impeached is under his wife, Ma. Cristina Corona’s protection.

Sister Flory said she leaves it up to the Corona spouses if they will return the P32.6 million to the corporation.

Sister Flory is one of the original stockholders of BGEI.
