ANGELES CITY, Pampanga—Policemen arrested on Monday, April 18, a Korean man with a pending warrant of arrest for a crime he allegedly committed in South Korea.

The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) identified the suspect as Heejun Yang, 40, who was staying at Widus Hotel inside the Clark Freeport Zone.

PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay said Interpol had issued a red notice against the suspect for “special larceny, destruction, and property damage.”

He said the Korean was initially detained at Police Station 4 for documentation and turned over to the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Several Koreans had been arrested this year in this city, authorities said.

On March 16, the BI fugitive search unit arrested Son Hyungjun and Choi Jong Bok for alleged telecommunication and investment fraud.

A month earlier, immigration operatives arrested Kim Youngsoo and Choi Youngsoo, wanted in their country for an alleged “voice phishing operation.”
