Police arrested two men allegedly responsible for the series of robberies in Mandaue City and northern towns in Cebu.
Arnel Poras, 24, and Ponciano Villamor, 24, were arrested in their homes in barangay Nangka, Consolacion town, and barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City, respectively.
Police said it was later found out that Poras was involved in a separate robbery later where he allegedly robbed and killed a woman.
Police said two maids accused the two men of robbing them around 9 p.m. last Tuesday. The complainants said they were walking along a road in barangay Basak, Mandaue, when two men on a motorcycle robbed them at gunpoint.
Police said a cell phone was taken in the robbery.
The two victims reported the robbery to the police the next morning.
Police said the complainants identified Poras and Villamor though a police rogue gallery.
Police then went to the houses of the two suspects and arrested them.
After the arrest, Insp. Wilson Abot, chief of the Mandaue City police station 3, contacted one Clodenfino Camenade, whose wife was shot dead by a robber last Jan. 30.
At the police station, Camenade identified Poras as the one who assaulted his wife.
