LIGAO CITY, Albay, Philippines — A total of 35 police officers from the Bicol were sent to Samar on Good Friday, April 15, to do search, rescue, and retrieval operations.

The team, led by Capt. Bon John Pascual, will aid those hit by Tropical Depression Agaton in Eastern Visayas last week.

Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Bicol Police Regional Office, said the team also brought the search-and-rescue vehicle with a desalination instrument to purify water for drinking.

“With this simple gesture, we wanted to convey to our affected countrymen that the police are with them in prayer and always available to help in times of need,” Estomo said.
