MANILA, Philippines — In his message on Good Friday, House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco urged Filipinos to repent for their sins and share blessings to those in need.
Velasco said that Good Friday serves as a reminder of the day “Jesus Christ willingly suffered, was crucified on a cross and died as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, all because of God’s great love for humanity.”
“Let us take a moment to repent for our sins and thank God for all his love and blessings over us,” Velasco said in his message.
“Good Friday also reminds us to count and share our blessings, as well as to take care of ourselves and others, especially those in need,” he added.
The House of Representatives is currently on break ahead of the 2022 national elections. Election Day will be on May 9 while the session will resume on May 23.
