MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines Coast Guard (PCG) has so far monitored nearly 100,000 passengers in various ports across the country on Maundy Thursday.
An update from the PCG showed a total of 94,731 passengers in different ports nationwide from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.
Of these passengers, 52,335 are outbound while 42,396 are inbound.

The PCG said it had deployed 2,365 personnel on Thursday.
Meanwhile, it inspected 337 vessels and 771 motorized boats (bancas).
The PCG has been on high alert since the beginning of the Lenten season.
On April 8, PCG Commandant Artemio Abu, through a directive from Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, ordered all Coast Guard units to initiate proactive measures to ensure the safety, security, and comfort of sea passengers who will travel to their home provinces and tourists who will visit recreational destinations.
