Suspect in slay of UPLB student surrenders—report

MANILA, Philippines—One of the suspects in the killing of University of the Philippines-Los Baños student Ray Bernard Peñaranda surrendered to authorities late Thursday night, according to a television report.

Tyrone Kennedy Terbio, 19, of San Antonio village in Los Baños, denied any participation in the crime, the report said.

Terbio has been accused by another suspect of stabbing Peñaranda last Sunday at a subdivision near the UPLB campus.

Terbio is now under the custody of the Philippine National Police and will be turned over to the Los Baños police on Friday, the TV report said. With Jong Manlapaz, Radyo Inquirer
