MANILA, Philippines — The consular office (CO) in Tacloban City is closed on Monday due to inclement weather brought about by tropical depression “Agaton,” the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
“CO Tacloban will resume its regular operations tomorrow, Tuesday, 12 April 2022, unless advised otherwise by the Local Government,” the DFA said in an advisory.
The DFA advised affected applicants with confirmed appointments but are unable to avail of consular services due to the suspension of operations to secure another appointment by sending an email to dfa.cotacloban@gmail.com with the following information:
– Name
– Date of birth
– Original appointment date and time
– Preferred date and time of new appointment
“The preferred new appointment may be on any working day (Monday to Friday) from 12 April to 11 May 2022 during CO’s regular operation hours (09:00 AM to 4:00 PM),” the DFA said.
“Applicants requiring emergency or urgent consular services may contact CO Tacloban (tacloban.rco@dfa.gov.ph) by email,” it added.
On Monday morning, Agaton weakened into a tropical depression. Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 was lifted in areas where it was earlier in effect.
Meanwhile, 11 areas were placed under TCWS No. 1 where strong winds are prevailing or expected within the next 36 hours.
