MANILA, Philippines — The family of a Filipino woman whose body was found in a suitcase in Dubai has asked that details surrounding the incident be kept private.
The 32-year-old Filipino woman, reportedly on a tourist visa, was found dead in a suitcase under a bridge, due to strangulation.
Philippine Consul General to Dubai Renato Dueñas Jr. said in a television interview that the embassy and consulate of the Philippines in Dubai were closely monitoring the investigation of the case.
Meanwhile, Director Rolly Francia of the Department of Labor and Employment said further details could not be disclosed as requested by the family of the victim.
“The family has requested utmost privacy … as much as we want to provide information about the circumstances, the family requested that we not divulge details,” Francia said at an online briefing.
