LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A former drug convict was arrested by police here on Wednesday (April 6) and yielded more than P37,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth), report said Tursday (April 7).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, Lucena police chief, in a report said suspect Jay Alas, 46 and resident of this city, was collared by police drug enforcement unit in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) 1 around 6:30 p.m.
The suspect yielded six plastic sachets of meth with a street value of P37,128.
Report tagged the suspect as SLI (street-level individuals) on the drug watchlist.
The police said Alas was previously convicted on drug charges but did not state why and when he was freed.
The suspect is now back in jail and facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
