Pagasa monitors 2 LPAs; rains seen over huge part of PH
MANILA, Philippines — Rainshowers are expected in various areas of the country on Wednesday as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) monitored two low pressure areas (LPA) on Wednesday.
The state weather bureau said one of the LPAs was spotted in the vicinity of Laak, Davao de Oro as of 3 a.m., bringing rainshowers in the whole Mindanao and Visayas regions, as well as the province of Palawan.
Pagasa said there is a low possibility that the LPA will develop into a storm in the next 24 hours. However, the state weather bureau advised residents to take caution over possible flooding and landslides.
Meanwhile, Pagasa is also monitoring another LPA outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). As of 3 a.m., it was located 2,710 kilometers east of Mindanao.
Pagasa said the LPA currently has no direct impact yet to the country but is expected to enter PAR in the coming days and bring rains to the eastern portion of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Pagasa has raised gale warning over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Aurora, Northern Quezon, Camarines Norte, northern coast of Camarines Sur, northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes as waves are expected to reach height of 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
