LUCENA CITY – At least six drug suspects were arrested and over P421,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) were confiscated in Rodriguez, Rizal and Bacoor City, Cavite early Sunday.
The Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police in a report said members of Rodriguez police drug enforcement unit collared Alexander Surwez and Alexander Surwez Jr. in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Burgos in the said locality around 3:15 a.m. The report did not specify the relationship between the suspects.
Authorities seized 18 plastic sachets of meth weighing 47 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P319,600.
In Bacoor City, anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Jose de Jesus Jr., Alysa Tira, Jaymar Bacani, and Michael Marquez in another sting operation in Barangay Niog 2 around 3:35 a.m.
The suspects were found carrying 21 sachets of shabu weighing a total of 15 grams with a street value of P102,000.
The police are investigating the source of the illegal drugs.
The suspects, who will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now under custody of the local police.
