MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of the country will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms but the entire archipelago is expected to have fair weather on Saturday, the state weather bureau reported on Friday.
“Shearline affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon. Easterlies affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its latest advisory.
Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao and Ilocos Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to shearline and the tail end of a cold front.
The similar weather condition is also expected in Caraga and Eastern Visayas due to easterlies or the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Pagasa raised gale warning to the seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos sur and the northern coast of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, which are set to have rough to very rough sea condition with 2.8 to 4.5 meters of waves due to the winds associated with the northeasterly surface windflow.
