PLARDIEL, Bulacan––Two illegal sellers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) were arrested Thursday during a buy-bust operation in this town, police said.
Col. Rommel Ochave, Bulacan police director, identified the suspects as brothers-in-law Gil Gasga and Bryan Rayoso, both from Barangay Bulihan.
The suspects were arrested at around 5:50 p.m. during a buy-bust operation conducted by an undercover agent from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) inside their house.
Col. Dave Mahilum, CIDG provincial field unit chief, said the suspects were refilling the branded butane canisters with ordinary LPG. The canisters with different brand names are supposed to be for one-time use only and, once emptied, should be disposed of.
Seized from them were 140 butane canisters filled with LPG, 140 pieces of empty butane canisters, one 50-kilogram LPG tank; three 11-kg LPG tanks; and a set of refilling mechanisms.
Mahilum said the police were tipped about the illegal activities of the suspects. INQ
