MANILA, Philippines – Four “high-value” drug personalities, including a minor, were arrested by authorities in separate operations in Baguio City and in Pampanga on Wednesday that also led to the seizure of over P1.6 million worth of prohibited drugs, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said in a statement Thursday.
In Baguio City, the PNP said two “high-value targets” were arrested at around 5 p.m. They were identified as Genesis Pagaduan, 23, and his 17-year-old cohort.
Police seized from the suspects six bricks of dried marijuana stalks and leaves weighing 6 kilograms with an estimated value of P720,000 and the buy-bust money.
The PNP also reported that Mabalacat City Police operatives in Pampanga also arrested Joven Torreliza, 53, who is another “high-value target,” in an operation in Barangay (village) Dau in Mabalacat City at around 8:25 p.m.
Police said one belt bag, the buy-bust money, and three transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (crystal meth) weighing more or less 80 grams valued at P544,000 were seized from Torreliza.
Torreliza is now in the custody of the Mabalacat City Police Station for documentation and for disposition, the PNP said.
Meanwhile, police in Pampanga also arrested 60-year-old Angelito Bartolo during an entrapment operation in Barangay (village) San Jose in Guagua town, the PNP said.
Recovered from the suspect were 12 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 55 grams with a street value of P374,000, one pouch, three cellular phones, one pick pouch, and the buy-bust money, said the PNP.
Bartolo is now in the custody of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 3 for proper disposition and documentation, the PNP said. –Jericho Zafra, INQUIRER.net trainee
