OLONGAPO CITY––The city on Wednesday registered a new patient with COVID-19, raising to three its active cases, local health data showed.
The city’s COVID-19 task force said the new patient is an 83-year-old woman from Barangay Gordon Heights.
The patient is unvaccinated against COVID-19 and manifested symptoms of the viral disease, such as breathing difficulty.
Despite this, the virus growth rate in the city remained slow.
For several days last week, no COVID-19 cases had been registered in the city, which is under the most lenient Alert Level 1.
Since the pandemic struck in 2020, Olongapo has registered 6,983 COVID-19 cases, with 6,632 recoveries and 348 deaths.
Healthcare workers are also monitoring seven suspected COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday.
