MANILA, Philippines — Skies will be clear on Thursday, the state weather bureau said, although rain will possibly occur by the afternoon or evening amid the prevailing easterlies across the country.
Similar weather conditions may also be expected in Mindanao and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.
“Inaasahan natin na malaking bahagi ng Luzon ay makakaranas ng maaliwalas na panahon, maliban na lamang sa mga pulo-pulo o isolated na rain showers o thunderstorms sa hapon at gabi,” said Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina.
(We expect most parts of Luzon to experience fair weather, except for the occurrence of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.)
On the other hand, the low-pressure area or LPA that Pagasa has been monitoring in the last few days has now left the country’s area of responsibility, spotted 405 kilometers west-northwest of Pagasa Islands in Palawan.
The LPA has developed into a tropical depression but it will no longer have any effect on the country’s weather.
Pagasa also said temperature range in key cities/areas nationwide for Thursday will be:
- Metro Manila: 26 to 34 degrees Celsius
- Baguio City: 16 to 25 degrees Celsius
- Laoag City: 26 to 34 degrees Celsius
