MANILA, Philippines – Classes resumed on Wednesday in Masbate a day after a 5.2 magnitude quake hit the island province, the Mayor said.
In a Radyo Inquirer 990AM interview, Masbate Mayor Socrates Tuason said that the superintendent of schools in their province declared that classes resume on Wednesday.
Classes were suspended after the quake hit the province shortly before noon Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Tuason said that residents that evacuated following the quake have all returned to their homes and the 10 who were injured have also been discharged from the hospitals.
He reported that only one building collapsed while another commercial building was deemed condemned after sustaining damages. Several buildings also sustained minor cracks, the Masbate Mayos said.
No roads were damaged and the electricity and water supply of the province remains operational even as aftershocks continue to rock the island, Tuason said.
