Low-pressure area brings rains

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area was last spotted 295 kilometers east of Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan, and will leave the Philippine area of responsibility within 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Tuesday afternoon.

Heavy rainfall alert was issued over Narra, Aborlan, Puerto Princesa and Kalayaan Islands in Palawan as of 5 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Kalayaan Island Group will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have fair weather due to the prevailing easterlies. Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are also possible.
