MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday thanked the Villar-led Nacionalist Party for its endorsement of his candidacy, saying that friends and allies are now uniting.
“Of course, I’m very happy every time that mayroon tayong nakukuhang suporta, lalung-lalo na sa pinanggalingan naming partido, ang Nacionalista Party,” he said in an chance interview

“Mabuti ‘yan at lahat ng kaibigan at lahat ng kaalyado ay ngayon mukhang nagsama-sama na. Maliwanag na ang patakbo sa kampanya at sa halalan,” Marcos added.

Marcos thanked the Villar family — former senator Manny, incumbent senator Cynthia, and senatorial candidate Mark — for their support for him and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
NP party president and chairman of the national directorate Manny Villar announced on Tuesday his party’s support for the Marcos-Duterte tandem, citing their support for the tandem’s message of unity.

“We believe that Bongbong and Inday Sara’s message of unity is crucial in binding our country together and inspiring our people as we rebuild not only from the pandemic but also from the political chasm that divides us,” Villar said.
The tandem has the “platforms of government, qualifications and track record to lead our country towards unity and prosperity,” he added.
Villar’s son, former public works secretary Mark Villar, is running for a senatorial seat under the Marcos-Duterte tandem.
