MANILA, Philippines (Updated) — A fire broke out at the Cinema 3 of Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig on Tuesday.
Initial report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) showed the fire was “out to first alarm” at 11:59 a.m.
The fire was put under control at 1:37 p.m. and was extinguished at 2 p.m.
In a statement, Uptown Mall said the fire broke out in a non-operational movie theater on the third floor.
“The fire was put under control a few minutes after it started with the help of the mall’s security and emergency respondents and firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection, who immediately arrived at the scene,” the mall management said.
“Mall guests, tenants, employees, and workers from the adjacent office towers were immediately evacuated following proper safety protocols and procedures. No injuries or casualties have been reported,” it added.
