Only 3 COVID-19 cases logged in Ilocos Norte in 1 week

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte—Only three COVID-19 cases were recorded in the province in the last six days, the provincial government said on Monday, March 28.

The province’s active COVID-19 cases stood on Monday at 31 after 14 patients recovered from the viral disease.

Of the 31, two were confined in hospital facilities for exhibiting severe symptoms.

The provincial government declared at least nine of the 23 towns and cities as COVID-free zones. These are Adams, Bangui, Dumalneg, Pagudpud, Vintar, Badoc, Nueva Era, Pinili, and Solsona.

Data from the COVID-19 tracker of the Department of Health on Monday showed that Ilocos Norte had an average daily attack rate of 0.39 per 100,000 population.

Since the pandemic struck in 2020, Ilocos Norte reported 24,847 COVID-19 cases, of which 501 died and 24,315 recovered.
