Rep. Arroyo, wife appear for arraignment on tax evasion raps
MANILA, Philippines — Ang Galing Pinoy partylist Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo and his wife Angela appeared before the Quezon City regional trial court Branch 100 on Wednesday for their arraignment on charges of tax evasion.
The couple’s arraignment is set to take place in the sala of Judge Marie Christine Jacob at 8:30 a.m.
The Bureau of Internal Revenue said that the lawmaker failed to file income tax returns for the years 2005, 2008, and 2009 while his wife did not file her ITRs from 2003 to 2009.
