OLONGAPO CITY––This city experienced a power interruption on Monday, March 28, forcing some businesses to suspend their operations.

The Olongapo Electricity Distribution Company Inc. (OEDC), the private power distributor in this city, said the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines would conduct maintenance activities that include testing and commissioning a deluge water spray system for one of its transformers.

In an advisory to its consumers, the OEDC said the scheduled power outage began at 8 a.m and would last until 6 p.m.

Some business establishments announced their temporary closure during the power interruption.

The power outage also caused water interruption in some areas in the city, prompting the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to supply water to the villages of New Cabalan and upper Gordon Heights, said Mayor Rolen Pauiino Jr.
