MANILA, Philippines — No new COVID-19 case was recorded within the Philippine National Police for the third straight day, the PNP’s Public Information Office (PIO) said on Monday.

The  PNP-PIO added that active cases within the police force dropped  from six on Saturday to just four, after two more patients recovered.

No new deaths were recorded, as the death toll remained at 128.

Overall,  the PNP has logged 48,858 COVID-19 infections.

COVID-19 cases in the country have been on a steady decline, from record numbers during the Omicron variant-led surge early January 2022.

Recently, the Department of Health (DOH) admitted that the decline in infections has slowed down after cases decreased in February and early March.
