MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) off Zamboanga del Sur will bring scattered rain showers to Palawan and parts of Mindanao, particularly the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi on Monday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The LPA, embedded in the intertropical convergence zone, was spotted at 20 kilometers northeast of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur at 3 a.m.
(This low pressure area still has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone. Rain will affect parts of Mindanao and Palawan today.)
Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have fair weather due to the easterlies with possible isolated rain showers.
(The rest of Luzon will have fair weather, except for sudden rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.)
(For the rest of Mindanao and the entire Visayas, fair weather is also expected, except for isolated rain showers.)
