MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) near Davao City, along with the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will bring scattered rain in Mindanao and parts of the Visayas on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The LPA was last spotted 60 kilometers east northeast of Davao City, according to Pagasa.
“Sa buong Mindanao po asahan pa rin natin ‘yung kalat kalat na pagulan pagkidlat at pagkulog dahil sa LPA at ITCZ,” said Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran.
(Throughout Mindanao, we can still expect widespread rain, lightning and thunder due to the LPA and ITCZ.)
“Makakaranas din po ng mga kalat kalat na pagulan itong Eastern at Central visayas, ang Western visayas naman ay makakaranas ng mga pulo pulong pagkidlat at pagkulog dahil sa localized thunderstorms,” he added.
(Eastern and Central Visayas will also experience scattered rains, while Western visayas will experience isolated lightning and thunder due to localized thunderstorms.)
Luzon, on the other hand, will be affected by the easterlies which will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies and chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
