2 armed persons nabbed in Danao

TWO armed men were arrested separately in Danao City, northern Cebu.

Pepito Amancio was arrested  by police after he was accused of firing a .38 revolver in barangay Looc past 1 a.m. yesterday.

A barangay tanod sought help from the police that Amancio was seen firing a gun.

Responding police spotted Amancio walking home and arrested him.

Upon inspection, police found a .38 revolver with five live bullets and an empty shell and two sticks of marijuana in his pocket.

Amancio told police he brought the gun for self-protection.  Amancio refused to identify the name of his fraternity.

Four hours later, Ronvic Barquio, 25, was arrested when he was spotted by a policeman carrying a gun in barangay Sabang.

Barquio was allegedly carrying a gun when he was passed by in an outpost where PO3 Arnulfo Giangan was assigned.

Giangan called for backup from the Danao City police station and helped arrest Barquio.

A .38 revolver with four live bullets was seized from Barquio.

Police said Barqui admitted that he took the firearm from a security guard who was sleeping in a establishment he was watching in Carmen town.

The two men were detained at the Danao City police station while waiting for charges to be filed against them. /CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
