Games Wednesday
Araneta Coliseum
5:15 p.m.- Air21 vs. Talk ‘N Text
7:30 p.m.- Brgy. Ginebra vs. Meralco
The unbeaten Talk ’N Text Tropang Texters may play without an import anew but they remain a dangerous team when they take on the Air21 Express today in the first game of the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
Left as the only unbeaten team in the tournament, the defending champions Texters are lording it over the standings with a perfect 3-0 (win-loss) card.
As of this writing, it remained uncertain if Talk ‘N Text would parade new import in Donnell Harvey, a 22nd pick by the New York Knicks in the 2000 NBA Draft.
The Texters contacted Harvey after their first import went down with a knee injury against the Alaska Aces last Feb. 26.
The Texters proved they can’t be taken lightly even with an import-less lineup as they bucked an All-Filipino crew to defeat the fancied B-Meg Llamados last Feb. 29, 102-96.
Should the Texters play without an import, the Express will have a golden opportunity of ending a two-game slide.
Air21 has not tasted a win since opening the tournament a 98-87 win over the Barako Bull Energy—its first since the Philippine Cup, where it went winless in 14 games.
In the main game, the Barangay Ginebra Kings look to tighten their hold of second place against the Meralco Bolts.
Ginebra is currently at solo second place with three wins and one loss.
