Buhisan Watershed Forest Reserve is a major water source in Cebu City. The construction of the dam was a public infrastructure to supply potable water for Cebuanos due to water-borne diseases during the American colonial period.
Festivities upon completion of the dam were celebrated with the commissioning of fountain in Fuente Osmeña circle. The celebration of the 100th anniversary of the historic event was last Feb. 13.
Hambin is a SEC-registered association of the pioneering graduates of the Graduate Certificate Course in Cebuano Heritage Studies of USC. The lecture is part of the group’s lecture series, which is supported by the USC History Department.
