The Council of Laity of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM-CL) has expressed support for the candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis Pangilinan for the top two elective positions in the country.

In a statement on Friday, the RCAM-CL said it went through a collective “hininga-nilay-kilos” (see-judge-act) discernment process before finally endorsing Robredo and Pangilinan for the positions of president and vice president, respectively.

“In our collective discernment, we, the overwhelming majority of the Vicariate Lay Representatives constituting the core group of the RCAM Council of the Laity, have come to the conclusion that Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo and Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan are the persons most qualified to lead our nation,” the laity council said.

In a joint statement, over 400 former Philippine Airlines (PAL) employees also threw their support behind the Leni-Kiko tandem after agreeing “collectively that we would give our total commitment of support to those who are God-loving, patriotic, decent, respectful and caring to fellowmen.”
