MANILA, Philippines — Presidential candidate and Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” on Friday said he would love to have the advice of President Rodrigo Duterte on how to win the presidency.
Moreno was reacting to Sen. Bong Go’s revelation that Duterte and his rival Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. shared his experiences and advised the latter on the presidency.
“Good for Marcos,” Moreno said during an ambush interview in San Juan, Batangas in response to reports that Duterte advised Marcos Jr. on matters concerning the presidency.
“How I wish mabigyan din ako ng advice papano manalo. Kasi important yun eh,” he added.
(How I wish [the president] gives me advice on how to win. Because that is important.)
Moreno also pointed out that erstwhile Davao mayor Duterte began his presidential bid with very few local politicians backing him.
“Once the silent majority voted, the rest is history,” the Manila chief executive pointed out.
Moreno previously said that he is still hoping for Duterte’s endorsement despite Duterte’s party PDP-Laban faction headed by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi’s recent endorsement of the presidential bid of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
