OLONGAPO CITY––Only one active COVID-19 case remained in this city on Tuesday, March 22, and no new infections were registered in the last four days.

The local COVID-19 task force said one of the two remaining virus-infected patients in the city recovered from the disease on March 18.

Since then, the task force tallied no additional cases in the city, data showed.

A total of 6,978 COVID-19 cases have been registered in the city since the pandemic struck in 2020. But at least 6,628 of these were recoveries, while 348 were deaths.

The city was placed under COVID-19 alert level 1 until March 31 due to the slow virus spread among its residents. INQ
