MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) urged the public on Wednesday to limit outdoor activities especially at noontime, with rising temperatures expected to bring another hot and humid day due to the easterlies.
“Sa kasalukuyan ay easterlies o mainit na hangin mula sa Dagat Pasipiko ang patuloy na umiiral dito sa bahagi ng Southern Luzon maging sa Visayas at Mindanao. Dala pa rin nito ang mainit at maalinsangang panahon at yung tsansa ng pulo-pulong pag-ulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said in a weather forecast.
(At present, the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean are affecting the Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This brings hot and humid weather, with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.)
“Pinapaalalahan po natin yung mga kababayan natin na hangga’t maaari, stay indoors o limitahan ang outdoor activities at kung hindi po maiiwasan ay huwag po nating kalimutan ang pananggalang natin sa direktang init ng araw,” she added.
(We remind the public to stay indoors as much as possible or limit outdoor activities, and if you need to go out, don’t forget to bring a shield to the direct effect of sunlight.)
Castañeda also urged the public to drink lots of water amid the hot weather.
According to Castañeda, isolated rain showers may still occur in the country especially in the afternoon and evening. She warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
She added that at present, Pagasa has not monitored a low pressure area within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility that could affect the country’s weather.

Metro Manila: 25 to 35 degrees Celsius
Baguio City: 16 to 26 degrees Celsius
Laoag City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tuguegarao: 23 to 35 degrees Celsius
Legazpi City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Puerto Princesa City: 25 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tagaytay: 22 to 32 degrees Celsius
Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Iloilo City: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Cebu: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius
Tacloban City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius
Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius
Zamboanga City: 24 to 34 degrees Celsius
