Frankie's apologizes, probes incident between staff and Robredo supporters

MANILA, Philippines — The management of Frankie’s New York Buffalo Wings has issued a public apology on its social media accounts over an alleged incident between its staff and some supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo at one of its branches in Taguig City.

The popular chicken wings restaurant was referring to a now-viral Facebook post narrating an incident where one of Frankie’s staff in its Bonifacio Global City (BGC) Crossroads branch purportedly disrespected pink-clad diners who had come to eat after attending Robredo’s PasigLaban People’s Rally in Pasig City on Sunday, March 20.

“Recently, we heard about concern from a guest regarding an experience that he and other patrons encountered in one of our branches. Once we were made aware of the incident, we managed to reach out to him and get more details on the matter. Alongside the communication, we are also reviewing the full report from the team member in question,” Frankie’s said in a statement.

It also said that they had already invited the staff member in question to their headquarters to “hear his side personally.”

Frankie’s assured the public that the opinions and views of the involved employee “[do] not reflect that of the management or of the whole organization.

“We respect people from all sides of the political spectrum and that this should never be a basis for not giving basic courtesy and respect, especially coming from us in the service industry,” it said.

Frankie’s also said it will conduct orientation on proper decorum, professionalism, and respect “despite any personal beliefs” while the investigation on the incident is ongoing.

Meanwhile, the person who narrated the incident had already hidden the post on social media and asked for level-headedness from fellow supporters, reminding them not to send hate towards the staff and the franchise and take the incident as a “a lesson of what true respect should be instead.”
