MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected in most parts of the country on Tuesday, except for isolated rain showers that may still occur due to localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), or the convergence of winds coming from the northern and southern hemisphere, are the weather systems currently affecting the country.

(For today, because of the ITCZ, Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. In the rest of Luzon, there will be fair weather except for sudden rain due to thunderstorms.)

(In Visayas and Mindanao, due to the effects of the easterlies and ITCZ, there will be fair weather except for isolated rain showers due to thunderstorms.)

Aurelio said Pagasa has not monitored a low pressure area within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility that may affect the country’s weather condition.
