MANILA, Philippines — The people’s campaign to push for the candidacies of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis Pangilinan has evolved into a crusade with hope at its heart.
On Monday, Robredo said in several posts on her Twitter account: “My heart is full. Thank you to the thousands who braved the heat, stood for hours, chanted, and sang with us yesterday (Sunday) … Thank you to our guest performers, who not only performed for free, but risked and continue to risk, their careers because of their great love of country … Mabuhay po kayong lahat! Ito ang tunay na pag-asa at pagkakaisa (Long live everyone! This is true hope and unity.)” #Pasiglaban.”
Robredo noted on Sunday night that the energy of the estimated crowd of over 130,000 in the PasigLaban grand rally in the Ortigas business district could be felt from a distance.
Addressing the crowd in Sunday’s rally, a grateful Robredo said, “It is very clear here, our people’s campaign has really become a crusade.”
