MANILA, Philippines — The drop in the number of COVID-19 infections in Metro Manila slowed in the last week, said OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David on Monday, but added that the region remains at “low risk” for transmission of the virus.
According to David, the region’s seven-day average in new cases, as well as its average daily attack rate (ADAR) only had a 4 percent decrease as of March 20 — much lower compared to the 23 percent decrease in the previous week.
“NCR rate of decrease has slowed to just -4% as of March 20, 2022,” said David through Twitter.
The reproduction number, meanwhile, increased slightly from 0.26 to 0.38, while the positivity rate decreased to 2.5 percent from 2.8.
“NCR remained at LOW RISK but the number of new cases looks flat… remained at low risk but is very close to very low risk,” said David.

Earlier, the Department of Health reported a total of 3,572 new recorded infections of COVID-19 from March 14 to 20, slightly lower than the 4,131 cases recorded the week before.
